Studio Updates

The facade has been 'disciplined'. The inspiration was demonstrated from the previous post and a small measure of Ingo Maurer's 'Porca Miseria!'. Now, of course, it resembles an upside-down artichoke.

Apologies for the night render, truly awful!

MT Studios

Exercising my right of 'veto' (over Ruwan's suggestion), I've decided to raise the woven roof to 8m AFL and to suspend the studio below. I feel that this is a better outcome re: shading/conditioning and also provides easier access from the designed stair. There is still nearly 4m from Floor to base of Studio, and the studio is comfortably within the vertical boundary of the floor plate alleviating the perceived 'weight' of the studio overhead for the person standing on the 1st floor deck.

The facade is conceptual and not yet tested for daylight/heat ingress, nor tested for detailing implications - the genesis may be best described by the following pictures/animation:

DYNAMIC Experiments

Hopefully these experiments will lead to the facade variation for the studios. All will be apparent tomorrow!
The bouncing marbles were intended as a narrative device for the final animation. I think the ensuing render times will kill the concept, but I'll include some scenes as part of a building demo-reel anyway..
