Gallery Space

Initial modeling for the gallery space.
The aim is to provide an undulating ceiling (can you spot the sin curve?) that is coffered for texture, and punctured to allow the ingress of (reflected) natural light and the concealment of luminaires.

The column structures are indicative and will be revised.

I'm endeavoring to apply much of what I'm learning through PCN122 to this design. I'm creating this building from the inside-out, concentrating on the play of light and using form to manipulate light.

Inbetween the gasps...

If only I could spend all day fooling around with 3d...sigh...having massive boolean problems which are preventing me from posting the first solid usable piece in my site jigsaw. Boolean functions under Mograph cloner objects anyone?

A New Week

Beginning the week with a stream of different ideas both in form and in ways of form realisation. There will be a flight of experiment ensuing: Deformations, particle generation and dynamics, and good old fashioned modeling.

MoGraph Sunday

First ventures into MoGraph:
(wish I had more time today) The object being to generate a new 'skin' to clad service columns and follow to form a roof lining (on a gallery proposal). Clearly, these exercises are a genesis to a formal solution, not the actual representation.

Friday - Week 2

The beginnings of the generative design process. Limiting myself to Cinema 4d and ArchiCAD as a supplementary documenting tool.

The project brief requires a gallery to be situated at some justifiable site within the boundaries of Fortitude Valley, Brisbane.

Today I am thinking of Thomas Herzog's EXPODACH symbolic roof.
