Here is grass from the 'Hair' module of c4d. This is a super-simple scene, make sure you 'exclude' it for GI animations, etc. This rendered super-fast (no GI, AC)

Studio Updates
The facade has been 'disciplined'. The inspiration was demonstrated from the previous post and a small measure of Ingo Maurer's 'Porca Miseria!'
. Now, of course, it resembles an upside-down artichoke.

Apologies for the night render, truly awful!

MT Studios
Exercising my right of 'veto' (over Ruwan's suggestion), I've decided to raise the woven roof to 8m AFL and to suspend the studio below. I feel that this is a better outcome re: shading/conditioning and also provides easier access from the designed stair. There is still nearly 4m from Floor to base of Studio, and the studio is comfortably within the vertical boundary of the floor plate alleviating the perceived 'weight' of the studio overhead for the person standing on the 1st floor deck.

The facade is conceptual and not yet tested for daylight/heat ingress, nor tested for detailing implications - the genesis may be best described by the following pictures/animation:

DYNAMIC Experiments
Hopefully these experiments will lead to the facade variation for the studios. All will be apparent tomorrow!
The bouncing marbles were intended as a narrative device for the final animation. I think the ensuing render times will kill the concept, but I'll include some scenes as part of a building demo-reel anyway..

Shen Neng 2
Here are the 90% (completed) sketch renders of the staircase. This is REV 11. I'm heartily sick of staircases about now, but overwhelmingly impressed with 3d modelling packages. If only I new what I was doing....
Of course, as far as revising designs can go, this bears scant resemblance to REV 1. That's progress.

These are the additional Gallery interior cell-renders:

Progression:
The Mediatheque project has taken some fairly serious re-shaping over the last week. Working back-and-forth between ArchiCAD and C4D is not a pleasant as Maxon Corp. would have you think. Frankly, ArchiCAD shits its self with high-poly GDLs - should be interesting 'documenting' in C4D:

Procrastination
Well, to celebrate reducing the polygons in the roof models from an staggeringly inefficient 300,000+ down to a more frugal 5,000, I've celebrated with a little procrastination aimed at developing for the final crit, some delightful animations; colourful marbles spilling down stairs, grass swaying lazily on the 'green roof' as the camera dollys along - that kind of thing.
